The five-day rule in Bedford Park
Bedford Park gives a junked car less time outdoors than most suburbs around it. Leave an old, stripped or non-working auto outside and unsheltered for five days and the village code calls it a nuisance, plates or no plates. Responsibility lands on the property owner, any tenants and the car’s owner together, and the code names only two cures: a fully enclosed building, or a trip out of the village.

Company lots and the residential pocket
Only 602 people lived here at the last census. Most of the land is industrial, with the houses tucked into a small residential section. So if your dead vehicle is a fleet van, a yard truck or an employee’s abandoned sedan on a business lot, that’s a normal pickup for us. Give us the site address, the gate hours and a name the driver can ask for.
Street parking is mostly off the table anyway. Inside the area bounded by Cicero Avenue, Harlem Avenue, 65th Street and 77th Street, the code bars parking on every street except a handful of 30-minute spots, and nobody may drop a semitrailer or freight container on any village street. The vehicle will almost always be on a lot, a driveway or inside a building, and the tow truck comes to it at no charge.

Size matters.
