No room at the curb, day or night
Bridgeview is strict about street parking. Between 2 and 6 a.m., nothing may sit on a village street unless the police approved it ahead of time, and once snow reaches an inch the streets have to be empty. A car that won’t start can’t simply wait at the curb for a buyer.
So when we come for a dead car here, it’s usually in a driveway, a garage, an apartment lot or a mobile home space. Our tow truck goes to it, and you pay nothing for the tow.
Expired plates count against you
The village zoning ordinance has its own word for a car like yours: a “Junker,” meaning a car too damaged to drive itself that needs major work, or one that falls short of state or village law. The same ordinance forbids storing an unlicensed vehicle outdoors in any zoning district, antiques excepted. A car whose registration ran out while it sat in the yard is already out of line with that rule, even before it starts leaking fluids.
Apartments, mobile home communities and stadium weekends
Housing here is more mixed than in most neighboring suburbs. Roughly half the units are detached houses, but more than a quarter are in buildings with five or more apartments, and about one in eight is a mobile home. For those pickups, tell us the complex or park name, the stall or lot number, and any gate or management rules.
Plan around big events, too. SeatGeek Stadium sits inside the village, and during the June 2026 Summer Smash weekend, residential streets north of 79th Street were limited to vehicles with a Bridgeview sticker. A quiet weekday makes for a smoother pickup.
Paperwork and payment
You’re paid at pickup. Keep the title nearby if you have it. If it’s gone, tell us what’s left in the glovebox or the kitchen drawer (an old bill of sale, a registration card, an insurance card) plus your photo ID; Illinois rules determine which papers can support a scrap sale, and we’ll confirm that before the truck is booked. Our guide to writing an Illinois bill of sale covers what that document should say.
Next door, we also buy cars in Justice, Hickory Hills and Chicago Ridge. Every town we cover is on our service area page.
Selling a car in Bridgeview: common questions
Can my broken-down car stay on a Bridgeview street overnight while I wait for pickup?
Not without permission. Village streets are closed to parking from 2 to 6 a.m., and Bridgeview Police have to approve an exception before 2 a.m. If the car died at the curb, call the police about the overnight rule and call us about removal; same-day pickup is often possible.
Do you pick up from mobile home parks and apartment lots in Bridgeview?
Yes. Give us the park or complex name, your space or stall number, and any rules management has about tow trucks or gate access. The towing is free wherever the car sits, as long as our driver can reach it safely.
